It is often said that a photo is worth a thousand words and in this world of instantaneous globe spanning communications this has never been truer. Photography is my voice; it is the way that I express myself; it is the way that I see the world and share my feelings and emotions. I do this with energy, passion and commitment and it is this that I want to share with you.
Although photography has been an important part of my life ever since high school I initially trained as a botanist, with David Belamy in Durham and then specialising as a molecular biologist in Cambridge, Seattle, London and Edinburgh. However, rather than being an academic much of my career has been in industry working in Stockholm, Glasgow and London managing teams and projects and above all working with customers around the world to deliver the products and services that they require.
It is this focus on customers and customer satisfaction that I now bring to my role as a full time professional photographer and is the trade mark of Greenshoots Photography. This focus on customers is reflected both in the way that I charge for my work, generally for the complete job rather than by the hour or day. I also have a more “relaxed” attitude to copyright than you will often see in the industry and you are free to use the images that I create for you in any way that you want and for as long as you like.
So what do I photograph? Well at its most basic the answer is simply food. I combine my skills and experience in photography with my passion for food and drink – not only as it is presented on the plate but the whole story of how it is created and the people who work in its production.
I am based in Scotland close to Glasgow airport but can readily travel to work with clients throughout the UK and further afield. So; if you need a photographer and have a project where you think that I can help please contact me discuss your requirements.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
